Use | Irreversible cysteine acid protease inhibitor, lysosomal cysteine protease membrane penetration inhibitor, is also a membrane penetrating calcium activated neutral protease inhibitor. The storage solution can be stored at-20oC for six months. |
In vitro study | Aloxistatin can enter intact platelets and inhibit proteolysis by inhibiting calpain. Aloxistatin attenuates parathyroid hormone-induced cell proliferation and inhibits osteoblast differentiation in vitro. |
In vivo study | Aloxistatin (100 mg/kg, p.o.) strongly inhibited cathepsin B & L activity in hamster skeletal muscle, heart and liver. In rats with spinal cord injury (SCI), Aloxistatin provides neuroprotection in SCI lesions and penumbra. In animal models of Alzheimer's disease, Aloxistatin reduced brain amyloid-beta by inhibiting cathepsin B activity and improved memory impairment. |
